I
was born in Scott County,
During
all those formative years I
regularly attended Sadieville Christian Church with my family until my
early
teens.
It wasn’t that I
stopped
believing but the worldly life of teenagedom took over.
Finally after several years
of being away
from the church I stopped and listened…and what I heard was
God
calling me to
Him.
So, in January 2005 I
surrendered
my life over to Him and wholly dedicated myself to serving in His name. Thus
began my second college career, this
time at
My life of service to the Lord began on that January afternoon of 2005. Immediately I began running the audio/visual equipment during our Sunday service and it was only 6 short months later I started working directly with our church Pastor and began leading an adult Bible study. In addition, I worked with the youth group for nearly a year in a voluntary position and was formerly hired as Youth Pastor in September 2006. I served in this capacity for 2 years until I felt God calling on me to serve in another area.
As part of the youth program we made the annual trip to the Ichthus Music Festival. Ichthus helped me realize how powerful music could be in our witness of God to others. As a result I picked up bass guitar and, well, couldn’t put it down. I felt a deep passion and desire to play music and use that music as an avenue for God. This passion led to being part of Not Quite Normal. I hope that through our music God is blessed and His word and work is spread wherever He leads us.
God has truly blessed my life… It isn’t perfect but it is the one He gave me and that’s enough. In addition to spending time with God, family, and friends I enjoy many hobbies. Basically anything that gets me into the solitude of the woods/outdoors including hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, backpacking, survival training, and kayaking. I also love the martial arts, reading, writing, shooting, golf, and weight training. I’m also a member of the Scott County Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) and Bluegrass Search and Rescue. Yep, I’m a busy person but would have it no other way…I love life and the experiences that make up that life.
